Privacy policy

How PhotoProof handles family information.

Effective and last updated: August 12, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how PhotoProof collects, uses, stores, and shares information when parents and children use the PhotoProof app, website, and related services.

2. Information we may collect

3. How we use information

4. Children and parental control

PhotoProof is designed to be configured and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. A child should not independently create a family account or purchase a subscription. Parents are responsible for deciding what information is entered, what photographs are submitted, which apps are selected for restriction, and whether PhotoProof is appropriate for their household.

PhotoProof is not intended to collect more child information than is reasonably necessary to provide the service. Parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of child-profile information associated with their family account.

5. Proof photos and AI-assisted review

Proof photographs may be transmitted securely to our service providers for storage, processing, or AI-assisted analysis. Automated analysis may identify visible objects, conditions, or signs that a task appears complete. These results can be inaccurate and should not be treated as factual guarantees.

Parents should avoid requesting proof that reveals sensitive personal information, private documents, precise location details, medical information, nudity, or other content unnecessary to verify a task.

6. Apple Screen Time and Family Controls

PhotoProof uses Apple-provided authorization and device-control frameworks when a parent enables restrictions. PhotoProof receives and uses only the permissions and selections needed to apply the parent’s chosen controls. Apple may represent selected apps or categories using privacy-preserving identifiers rather than exposing a child’s complete app-usage history to PhotoProof.

7. Service providers

We may use service providers for cloud hosting, databases, file storage, authentication, push notifications, security, diagnostics, customer support, AI-assisted image analysis, and subscription management. These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for PhotoProof and subject to contractual or legal safeguards.

Subscription and entitlement management may be provided by RevenueCat. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.

8. When information may be shared

We may share information with service providers, within a paired family account, when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of assets. We do not sell proof photographs or child-profile information.

9. Data retention

We retain information while an account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may differ by data type. Parents may delete missions, proof history, child profiles, or the family account through available controls or by contacting support, subject to legal and security retention requirements.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No system is completely secure. Parents should use a strong account credential, protect the parent PIN, enable Face ID where available, and immediately report suspected unauthorized access.

11. International processing

Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where PhotoProof or its providers operate. Applicable safeguards will be used where required.

12. Your choices and rights

Depending on location, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to appeal certain decisions. Parents may exercise these rights for child profiles they control. Requests may require identity and parental-authority verification.

13. Notifications and device permissions

Users can change camera, photo, notification, Face ID, and Screen Time permissions through iOS settings. Disabling a permission may prevent related features from functioning.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product, providers, or law changes. The updated date will be posted above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email.

15. Contact and account deletion

For privacy questions, data-access requests, or account and child-profile deletion requests, email esstifel@gmail.com. We may need to verify the requesting adult's identity and parental authority before completing a request.
